Students analyze past CSS essay prompts, draft thesis statements, and outline three supporting arguments. They present their structure for peer and instructor feedback.

2. Precis Relay Challenge (Precis Writing)

In teams, students write a 60-word precis of a 250-word passage within 15 minutes, exchange for peer review, and compare with a model version for guided improvement.

3. Paragraph Reconstruction Lab (Composition Writing)

Students correct and reorder a flawed paragraph to improve grammar, coherence, and sentence variety. The activity sharpens editing and rewriting skills essential for CSS.
